Junior Members

Requirements to receive Junior Membership status –

To be considered for membership as a Junior Member a prospective member must meet all of the following requirements:

• Must be attending high school or not have reached the age of 18 years

• Have completed probationary membership requirements

• Have served as a probationary member for a minimum of six months

• Have passed a drug screen

• Present at a regular monthly business meeting a request for “Junior Membership” status in person or in writing

• Must be approve by a majority vote of the executive committee

 Junior Member Authority – 

Junior members shall have the right to:

• Retain the recognition as a member of the squad

• Serve on committees as requested to do so by the Captain or a vote of the executive membership

• Be issued squad equipment as approved by the SOPs of the squad for this membership category.

• Receive all benefits that may be offered to this membership category.

Junior Member Responsibilities –

Junior members shall:

• Perform the required hours as outlined in the SOPs for this membership category (currently requires 0 hours per month; these members are required only to respond to emergences at their school locations). 

• Complete and maintain training requirements as outlined in Squad SOPs for this membership category

• Attend duty, training and meetings as required in Squad SOPs for this Membership category

• Meet all obligations required by this membership category 

• Perform any squad duties and assignments as directed by line officers or Squad SOPs.

• Present them self in a professional manner at all times while in view of the public.

• Notify the squad of any conflicts of interest on matters of squad business

• Bring to the attention of the squad officers any knowledge of violations Squad Policy and SOPs.
