Junior Members
Requirements to receive Junior Membership status –
To be considered for membership as a Junior Member a prospective member must meet all of the following requirements:
Must be attending high school or not have reached the age of 18 years
Have completed probationary membership requirements
Have served as a probationary member for a minimum of six months
Have passed a drug screen
Present at a regular monthly business meeting a request for “Junior Membership” status in person or in writing
Must be approve by a majority vote of the executive committee
Junior Member Authority –
Junior members shall have the right to:
Retain the recognition as a member of the squad
Serve on committees as requested to do so by the Captain or a vote of the executive membership
Be issued squad equipment as approved by the SOPs of the squad for this membership category.
Receive all benefits that may be offered to this membership category.
Junior Member Responsibilities –
Junior members shall:
Perform the required hours as outlined in the SOPs for this membership category (currently requires 0 hours per month; these members are required only to respond to emergences at their school locations).
Complete and maintain training requirements as outlined in Squad SOPs for this membership category
Attend duty, training and meetings as required in Squad SOPs for this Membership category
Meet all obligations required by this membership category
Perform any squad duties and assignments as directed by line officers or Squad SOPs.
Present them self in a professional manner at all times while in view of the public.
Notify the squad of any conflicts of interest on matters of squad business
Bring to the attention of the squad officers any knowledge of violations Squad Policy and SOPs.
