Reserve Membership
Requirements to receive Reserve Membership status –
To be considered for membership as a Reserve Member a prospective member must meet all of the following requirements:
Have reached the age of 18 years
Must currently be certified as an Emergency Medical Technician
Must be an employee of a “participating employer”
Have completed probationary membership requirements
Have served as a probationary member for a minimum of six months
Have passed a drug screen
Present at a regular monthly business meeting a request for “Reserve Membership” status in person or in writing
Must be approve by a majority vote of the executive committee
Reserve Member Authority –
Reserve members shall have the right to:
Retain the recognition as a member of the squad
Be issued squad equipment as approved by the SOPs of the squad for this membership category.
Receive all benefits that may be offered to this membership category.
Reserve Member Responsibilities –
Reserve members shall:
Perform the required hours as outlined in the SOPs for this membership category (currently requires 0 hours per month; these members are required only to respond to emergences at their work locations).
Complete and maintain training requirements as outlined in Squad SOPs for this membership category
Attend duty, training and meetings as required in Squad SOPs for this Membership category
Meet all obligations required by this membership category
Notify the squad of any conflicts of interest on matters of squad business
Perform any squad duties and assignments as directed by line officers or Squad SOPs.
Present themselves in a professional manner at all times while in view of the public.
Bring to the attention of the squad officers any knowledge of violations Squad Policy and SOPs
